Napoli

In my last blog I told you all about my visit to Assisi and I hinted how this was just the first stop on a wonderful mystery tour. Now I’d like to show you the next destination on my trip.

From Assisi we headed south to...

Ta-da! Naples (or Napoli).

As usual, I checked out the hotel room on our arrival.

This one had a big balcony with a great view of Mount Vesuvius in the background.

Once settled-in, we headed down to the sea-front to soak in the sun and the sights.

Here I am in front of the Bay of Naples. In the background are the Castel dell’Ovo and the islands of Sorrento and Capri.

Me and Missus in front of the Castel_dell'Ovo . (The ‘Egg Castle’).

And here we are with Vesuvius behind us. (I hope it’s still ‘sleeping’!)

As the Neapolitans say: “That’s Amore!”

Further along the Bay, we came across lots of yachts...

...and people frolicking on the shore...

...and plenty of other photo-opportunities.

After we’d finished our stroll along the Bay, we headed in land to explore more of downtown Napoli...

“Where shall we go first Dad?”

Dad took me to the centre of town – the Piazza Plebiscito. Behind us is the church of San Francisco di Paolo.

And this is me at the Palazzo Reale.

Me and Dad in front of Napoli’s grand old opera house – the Teatro di San Carlo.

Next we went shopping in the Galleria Umberto I...

...before winding our way through the city’s ‘Spanish Quarter’.

Finally, we made our way to the grandest of Napoli’s many castles, the Castel Nuovo (New Castle).

After all of the sight-seeing, we were more than ready for some traditional Neapolitan food...

Me, Missus and Dad at the restaurant.

Well, that was a brief tour of Napoli. I can’t wait to tell you about our next outing...
