Happy Halloween 2007!

This is my Halloween costume. It was handmade by Missus. She said I am supposed to look scary. I think I just look silly.

Boo! I am the 'Demonic Dog'. I hope I scared you? The humans said that the lights in the background look like flames and give an authentic 'Halloween' setting.

I am Supermodel Ru-'Paw'

Oooh... booti-ful me!!!

Being a canine supermodel is not easy and let me tell you why. Recently, Missus bought a very powerful camera and, of course, a model was needed. Being young, naive and hungry for food (I mean fame), I was ‘cajoled’ into her shenanigans.

I toiled for the whole day under the blazing hot sun. I was given no water and no treats to motivate me at all. The darn ‘photographer’ made me pose like a monkey and my jaws were so tired from the smiling and grinning that, at one point, I swear my tongue went numb!

Still, we did manage to get some decent shots for my 'pawfolio'...

Look, I'm trying to 'pout' in these next few shots...

After a long shooting seesion, we discovered another 'wannabe model' - Balu. All this time he had been spying on me from his apartment balcony. I guess he wanted to know what I was up to; what modeling assignments I had been given; and whether ‘Doggy & Gabbana’ had provided the latest collars and leashes for me to model for them. Tsk! Tsk! Anyway, just so that he didn't feel left out, I asked the photographer to take a few shoots of 'spy-the-dog'.

Can you spot Balu? I've marked-up a red arrow to give you a clue.

Look at his puppy eyes!

I wouldn't be surprised if Balu ends up being 'Shekou's Next Top Model'. I've just overheard Missus mention that she was looking for more 'younger faces'. Is she trying to imply that I'm old???

OK folks, that's all for now. I need to catch up with my beauty sleep.

And this is Homer sashaying away...

My Giant Biscuit

Balu's humans got me a giant dog biscuit during their trip back home. You must think I'm crazy to blog about it, but the biscuit smelled and tasted so heavenly that I just had to tell you all. Mmmmm... biscuit... I hope the next time I'll get more than one (Hint! Hint!).

Missus was very mean to make me wait for my biscuit.

... and being a good dog, I waited.

When Missus was not looking, I couldn't resists stealing a few sniffs and nibbles.

Finally, I was given the 'green light' to indulge myself!

I Miss the Beach

I don't want to get too nostalgic, because I am enjoying myself here in Shekou, but I do sometimes miss the times I spent on the beach during my stay in Okpo, Korea. With all due respect, I don't really miss Okpo (some people were not too friendly to me at times). But, what I really do miss is being able to run around freely on a sandy beach, enjoying the sea breeze and 'doggy surfing' amongst the waves.

Anyway, the humans have tried their best to organise a beach outing for me here in Shekou. Unfortunately, the nearby beaches are not too pet friendly. The only beach which is deemed suitable for me is about a three hour drive from Shekou. So, I guess for now, I will not be going to the beach too often.

Just to reminisce, I've attached a video clip of me on my last trip to Gujora Beach in Korea.

This Old Man... He's Forty-Two

Today is Dad's birthday. Missus baked him a chocolate birthday cake but it turned out to be a disaster.

This is me with Dad's cake. I couldn't help noticing that it looked like a pile of 'you know what'.

We also got Dad some champagne and a card. We couldn't find Dom Perignon in Shenzhen so he had to make do with Moet.

Missus then made us pose for our usual ritual - the family photo session!

Me, Dad and the pile of 'you know what', I mean cake!

I gave Dad a fond look to wish him a happy birthday...

... followed by lots of doggy kisses!!!

As you can see, we were both having a happy birthday!

OK, so when can we have the food?

Me and Archangel on the Promenade

I just wanted to share this photo of me and Archangel which was taken yesterday on the promenade. I think this is one of the best shots in my 'pawfolio' (portfolio). Mind you, we did not pose willingly. The humans threatened to throw us into the sea if we didn't present our best shot. Our survival instincts told us that co-operation was our best option.

Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

'Mister Mysterious'

This is another new friend of mine whom I've included in my PDA (Personal Dog Assistant). His name is Mister and he is only twelve months old.

Another puppy in the neighbourhood.... 'snort'...

By day, Mister is just another ordinary mild mannered pup...

However, by night, Mister is another of these dogs who dons a 'mysterious' mask. Maybe he has some kind of super powers? I think I will call him 'Mister Mysterious'.

At first, 'Mister Mysterious' did not seem very 'mysterious' at all.

But soon, he started his dastardly plan for 'Homer domination'.

However, it wasn't long before I used my own super powers to gain control of this 'masked marauder'.

After a while, both of our powers were weak.... 'pant', 'pant', 'pant'... But, we live to fight another day (after dinner!).

The Three Amigos

As you know I've been making a lot of friends recently. Here's some photos of me and two of my mates, Archangel and Balu.

The humans call us the 'Three Amigos'.

If they knew the mischief that we were planning, they would call us the 'Axis of Evil' instead.
