Assisi

As I write this, I’m on the last leg of a fantastic trip during the past few days. I’ll tell you more about all of my adventures over my next few blogs.

First of all, let me tell you about my visit to Assisi. We set off on Friday afternoon for our long journey from Lodi to Assisi.

Here’s a map showing the route which we took.

After about five hours, we arrived at our hotel in Assisi.

Wow! This hotel room had two stories. Here I am downstairs, in my lounge...

... and here I am upstairs, in my bedroom.

Enough of the hotel. I want to show you around the booti-ful town of Assisi. It is especially famous for the life and times of Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals.

This is me and Dad setting off to explore the town.

First we went to the Saint Rufino Cathedral.

Me and Missus in front of the cathedral.

In fact, being such a holy place, Assisi is filled with chuches.

The one in the background is the Basilica of Saint Clare.

Of course, the most famous religious building in Assisi is Saint Francis’ Basilica. This is the burial place of Saint Francis.

Aside from the many churches, there were plenty of other booti-ful sites to see.

For instance, here I am with Dad in front of Temple of Minerva.

Me and Missus with the Umbrian countryside behind us.

And here we are falling in love again in front of the fountain in Assisi’s main square.

Me and Dad in one of Assisi’s many charming streets.

And here’s yours truly without the humans.

The place was so endearing, I couldn’t help leaving a peemail while Dad wasn’t watching!

Finally, we stopped for lunch at the hotel restaurant before setting off for our next destination.

I wonder where that could be...Watch this space.
