Is There Something I Should Know?

Something strange has been happening in our household of late. I can’t quite put my finger (or should that be ‘paw pad’) on it, but my humans are definitely up to something. For a start, there has been a lot of discussions about places which I have never heard of before. Then, I have noticed a number of strangers coming into our home. This situation came to a head a few days ago when some guy delivered a batch of ‘materials’. This is a sample of what he brought…

“What on earth could they want with this stuff?”

“Are you going to build a cardboard dog house for me?”

I got no answer to my question, so I proceeded to build my own house. Unfortunately, I left my food outside.

After a while, it became clear to me that they weren’t building a house. It was obvious that they were ‘packing’. How could I be so naïve? As you know, I am very well travelled and have been through this a number of times before.

Anyway, just to make sure that they don’t leave me behind, I ‘packed’ myself in advance.

So, it appears that we will be moving on from China, to pastures new. Watch this space, and I’ll let you know where we’re going soon...

Dogs From The Other Blocks

As you may know, one of my favourite pastimes is to gaze out of the window and watch the world go by. I thought that I must be the only dog who found this activity entertaining. However, on a recent prowl around my local patch (Coastal Rose Garden), I noticed that I was far from unusual in this habit. Take a look at the pictures below to see the wide variety of 'peeping toms' in the neighbourhood. You might even recognise some of my good friends from previous blogs.

Firstly, this is me, seemingly alone in my usual position.

However, if you look closely, I’m not the only canine in the picture.

Unbeknown to me, this little guy is my upstairs neighbour.

Next, I spotted this little dot up on the fourth floor of another block.

On closer inspection, the ‘dot’ turned out to be an old dachshund friend of mine.

In the complex next to ours, I noticed a little white fluffy ball hanging out of the balcony.

I hope his head is not stuck!

Can you spot the dog in this picture?

“Hello mate!”

And another one...

... an enlarged version. This little fellow looks kind of sad.

At first, I didn’t think there was much to be seen in this photo.

Then I noticed this guy hiding behind the potted plants.

This one is really difficult to spot.

But, with my supersonic eyes, I had no problem picking out my good mate, Lichi.

And who is this, hiding behind the trees?

Who else but Balu. He looks so grumpy in the photo!

Lastly, I looked up at what appeared to be just a bunch of empty windows.

Little did I know that Lilly was looking straight back at me! Spooky...

A Man's Worst Nightmare

Today I had my first taste of the problems caused by philandering (or just plain two-timing). Remember Gertie, the ‘Supermodel’, who I spent a frisky afternoon with last week? Well, I was back around at her place today.

Me and Gertie messing around.

Imagine my dismay, when my old flame, Kira, showed up. Look at the surprised expression on my face!

Kira struts onto the scene.

What followed was a really awkward situation, which maybe only young virile men (like myself) will be able to relate to. I had to keep both of the ladies ‘sweet’, without either of them suspecting that I had been seeing the other one.

This meant having a secret tryst with Gertie in the bushes...

… and also required that I made sure Kira felt as if she was being given my full attention.

Me and my two girlfriends.

I must admit, I think I pulled off the whole charade fairly well. However, I would not like to encounter these situations too often. It was definitely not good for my blood pressure…

My Date with Gertie, the Supermodel

I’ve made a new friend who also lives in Coastal Rose Garden. Her name is Gertie and she’s tall and slim, just like a supermodel.

Look at Gertie’s long legs. She reminds me of Kate Moss.

Gertie strutting her stuff...

...and striking a couple of poses.

Despite her supermodel looks, Gertie hasn’t always lived a glamorous life. Her human recently adopted her from a dog shelter in Hong Kong.

Last Sunday, Gertie invited me to play in her big yard. Of course I agreed, it isn’t often that I get to hang out with a supermodel.

I noticed that Gertie quickly tried to get up close to me...

...pretty soon, she was whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

Next, she tried to seduce me with a romantic meal for two. (She obviously knows my weakness!)

I was so shy and intimidated by these flirtatious advances that I lost my nerve, and ran away.

I’m a bit naive when it comes to romance. So, to change the mood, I instigated a bit of ‘ruff’ and tumble.

Anyway, Gertie and I had so much fun and I hope that we can meet up again soon.

National Day (Singapore)

Today is a special day for Missus. It is National Day in Singapore - her homeland. Missus is very patriotic and to prove the fact, she had me pose in front of the Singapore flag. See photo attached.

Actually, I think have an identity crisis. I want to relate to Missus, as a Singaporean, and I spent the formative months of my life there. However, I am also aware that I was born in Australia. In addition, Dad is British and I would never want to hurt his feelings.

So... to whom shall I pledge my allegiance? Am I Singaporean? Australian? or British?

In reality, it doesn't matter to me. As long as I have my FOOD, you can say that I'm from the moon!

Lichi and Me

So, Lilly left and I was feeling kind of down. Fortunately, another friend of mine, Lichi, has now come to stay with us. (You may remember Lichi from one of my previous blogs). Apparently, his humans are away on holiday.

Although Lichi stays with us during the day, he goes back home each night. When I asked him why, he said that he prefers his own bed. Tsk!

This afternoon, Missus and Dad took Lichi and me for a walk. Here are some photos from our day out.

Lichi and I (I’m the handsome one).

I think Lichi needs a haircut and a shave. His hair is covering his eyes!

Actually, he looks like a very cute boy, don’t you think? (Pssst, don’t be fooled by appearances, in real life he’s a cheeky rascal.)

A ‘Mini Me’ version. Where’s Lichi???

We were happily strolling along when Missus started her obligatory photo shoot…

Don’t we look booti-ful???

However, it wasn’t long before Missus brought out her fancy dress props. I think Lichi’s supposed to look like a red indian in this photo.

On second thoughts, he looks more like a daisy in the grass!

Whilst Lichi was busy pretending to be a flower, I just ‘hung out’.

Me in my cool doggles. Yo dude!

Don’t you think we look like we come from the sixties? We’re certainly a funky looking couple of dogs.
